Well it's been a while since I wrote, I mean a really long while, life has been really, really busy with school, work, etc. Being a diligent student I have worked my ass off and have been doing well in school so being ahead I actually have the time to write up a little something. Before I go into my main story, just a few tidbits........
- why do I keep losing socks? And why do the only socks I have are my ugly ones from 15 years ago, all my good ones I keep misplacing.
- This stock market has been crazy, I still think we are down 10% by March from this point.
- My neck and legs are killing me from my first fitness class, you know the ones where an overaggressive trainer tells you things like higher, faster, quicker, while all you are thinking of is can I get away with throwing her into the mirrors and actually have a defense for it?
- I met my literary hero Bill Simmons the other day, this is the equivalent of me meeting Mickey Mouse when I was 5.
- His book is actually really good, I got through about 50 pages last night, must say I'm impressed
- I plowed threw 5 seasons of Lost and am completely caught up at this point, that's one messed up Island
-As for TV, my two new favorite shows, which I will eventually blog about in the future are FlashForward and Modern Family. FlashForward has that Lost feel to it, each week I am more and more curious to see how all this works out, and it's not because Domenic Monaghan is in it.....Modern Family is what life would be like for Al Bundy, if Peg died, he won the lotto , married some hot ass Latino, Bud turned Gay, and Kelly grew a brain and married a helpless loser......it's so good to have Ed O'Neill back in my life, I missed him.........future blogs will be dedicated to these shows.....zurica I expect something on FlashFwd, maybe you already have, I just haven't had a chance to look at your site........
Anyways now that I touched on some things, I want to introduce you to a theory of mine called Hedging your happiness. I am writing about it today because my buddy Steve, who's also one of my clients is from Philly, die hard Eagle & Phillies fan and this is a HUGE weekend for him. Absolutely huge! So we were talking about the line to the Giants/Eagles game, and being an Eagle fan he couldn't bring himself to betting on the Giants even though he thought the Giants being a pick em would win. Bottom line , he said "Cant" on an IM convo we were having. I thought this is utterly ridiculous and I'll explain why in 3 different ways below...
1) Ever play the game how much would you spend on _______ : Well if you haven't, it goes something like this , I would spend $1,000 to see the Mets win the world series, I would spend $500 to see the Giants win this weekend, I would spend 1$ to hang out with Carrot Top for a day, etc. You get the point, so in steve's case, I say hedge your happiness, if I would to ask steve if I could guarantee you how much you would spend to be sure the Eagles were to win, what would it be? Whatever that number is bet on the Giants, if the Eagles win, great!! you're happy, if the Giants win, it sucks they lost but you have a little cashola in your pocket. It's called hedging your happiness, you're diversified.
2) Fantasy Football- another huge area of hedging your happiness, I almost refuse to ever have players from my favorite team on my fantasy team. Perfect example, last year NFL week 1 Tom Brady knee explodes into a million pieces, If you are a New England Fan, you now want to drink Drano and if you drafted you're favorite player Brady, now you might actually do that. I say hedge, draft Brees in that spot instead of Manning, that way both of your teams don't get blown up.
3) Real life-you're 25, your living at home, your trying to save a couple of $, you in essence are hedging your happiness. You have $, but your not getting any ass, you decide to move out your getting ass, just have no $$, that is a perfect hedge.......unless you start making more $ , than the theory gets thrown out the window and you are happy all the time.
If anyone else can think of any good hedges let me know, I just wanted to break down TP's theory of hedging your happiness

Missed this week, will watch it later, but i really enjoy this show. My only negative comment is that Jack was always a much stronger lead character than joseph fiennes in this one. Fiennes always talks like hes speaking thru his teeth or angry at something.
